Airbrush spray tans color the outer layer of skin by using a formulation of DHA and liquid bronzer applied via a high volume, low pressure gun. DHA stands for dihydroxyacetone, which is a synthetic ingredient made of sugar cane or beets fermented with glycerine. DHA is responsible for the long term color. The bronzer you see right away after your spray tan is an instant color guide. This washes off after you shower. The DHA takes 6-8 hours to develop underneath, and maxes out at 12 hours.
This depends on how fast your skin naturally exfoliates. Typically the tan can last anywhere from 5-10 days. If you follow the after care instructions, you’ll be able to elongate the tan.
30 minutes, start to finish.
Yes! Just be mindful that water can wash it off and skin-to-skin contact can rub it off before the tan is fully developed. The tan is the most sensitive for the first hour or two, so you can’t be washing dishes or doing laundry. Wearing a long sleeved loose shirt and long pants immediately after the tan will help you be able to do what you want/need to do while your bronze tan is developing!
Whatever you are comfortable with! You can choose to go topless as I provide a disposable thong. You could also choose a strapless bra/bikini top with bikini bottoms. Please keep in mind you will have tan lines based on what you wear.
Yes, please! You need to prep your skin in order to get the maximum strength out of your spray tan. Please refer to the Pre/Post care instructions page for details.
I suggest checking with your OB-GYN before booking an appointment. I use one of the best tanning solutions on the market called Tan Icon by Million Dollar Tan. It is made with superior quality ingredients that does not leave an odor like most over- the-counter tanning products do. However, while pregnant and nursing, hormones shift and can cause allergic reactions that were not present before. Schedule a patch test beforehand free of charge.
